ON a rare, dry, Saturday morning Copplestone Cobras Under 10's played CS Pumas at Sampford Peverell for a place in the semi-finals of the Exeter and District Youth League Cup.

Both teams battled hard and CS Pumas got the advantage in the first half by scoring a fantastic goal from close range.

This then put more pressure on the Cobras who did not waiver and got the reward of an equaliser in the final minute due to a great team effort.

This meant extra time and with both teams on tired legs, they both fought on.

After the first half of extra time the score was still level but a push from the back by all players resulted in the Cobras winning a throw in by the corner flag.

An immense throw and well-timed header sent the Cobras into the lead.

The Pumas were not going to give up yet and continued to fight back for the remaining few minutes but the Cobras held their nerve and the game finished as a 2-1 win.

After a very tense match all of the players sportingly shook hands and then played a friendly match.

Copplestone Cobras are now waiting to see who they will play in the semi-finals.
