CHULMLEIGH Community College sent three badminton teams to represent North Devon at the County finals in Torquay on Wednesday, January 24.

A total of 16 schools took part in the competition across Key Stage 3 (years 7/8/9) and Key Stage 4 (years 10/11).

Chulmleigh’s KS3 boys’ team won all of their matches, qualifying for the South West Finals on March 7 at Bournemouth Leaf Academy, and if successful will then go on to the National Finals in April.

The KS3 girls’ team came second, losing only one match 3-2 – against last year’s National Champions, so a great achievement!

The KS4 boys’ team fought hard to come in seventh place, against some very tough competition.
