NORTH Tawton Bowling Club hosted a Bowls Devon prestigious Devon Presidents match against club members on Thursday, July 15.

The Devon Presidents were welcomed by North Tawton President Mike Thwaites and Club Captain Jan Summers.

The weather was hot and sunny for the games and it was the Mixed Devon President’s who were triumphant at the end of the day.

During the interval a splendid tea was provided in the clubhouse.

Speeches were also made by Christine Marshall, Bowls Devon Ladies President; Sandra Andrews, Bowls Devon Ladies Junior Vice President and Vicky Hingston, Bowls Devon Ladies Administrator.

Mrs Marshall said that she had always wanted to play on the rink at North Tawton and was delighted to have the chance.

Mr Thwaites said it was a “great afternoon”.
