CREDITON Bowling Club hosted a mixed game against Bowls Devon Presidents on Friday, July 29.

David Mercer (Bowls Devon Men’s President) and Jackie Howell (Bowls Devon Ladies President) arrived with a team to challenge Crediton Bowling Club for a game.

It was beautiful sunny afternoon and the Crediton rinks just pipped the Bowls Devon team at the final count of scores, with the slower rinks getting a soaking from late afternoon rain, before entering the clubhouse to socialise.

Crediton President Dorothy Richards gave a speech thanking the Bowls Devon team and emphasised the camaraderie during the game of bowls with good friends from all over the county.

David Mercer told one of his famous jokes, which was a fitting end to a delicious full English tea that had been prepared by some ladies from the club.
