MEMBERS of Morchard Bishop Bowling Club recently hosted a prestigious bowling tournament which ended in a draw between Morchard Bishop Ladies and Devon County Lady President’s Team.

Morchard Bishop Vice President, Marcia Mills, welcomed Vicky Hingston and her six-rink team. Sadly, Ruth Voisey, President, is ill and was unable to attend, but her Senior Vice President did the honours admirably.

It was a lovely hot, sunny, breezy day and everyone seemed to enjoy the match.

As Morchard Bishop have very few lady members, the club was pleased to have help with rinks from Crediton, North Tawton, Okehampton and Tiverton West End joining them.

A lovely tea, provided by members, and organised by Gillian Gunn was enjoyed half-way through. Helpers were Jean Moore, Brian Poole and Henry Cruwys.

All gathered at the end of the match for drinks, the draw and to hear the score. This was a draw – 117 shots each – a fitting result for a great afternoon’s bowling.

Morchard Bishop Bowling Club is always pleased to welcome new members, whether they have bowled before or not.
