IT was a good tussle at Crediton Bowling Club on Saturday afternoon (August 18) when a team from Evans News played Graphics in the final of the Industrial Bowls tournament.

This is organised each summer by the Rotary Club of Crediton. It was thought this was its 45th year.

Winners were Graphic who have won at least three times before. Evans have never won the tournament but have come close, playing Graphic in the semis last year.

The shield was presented by Rotary president Mike Beskeen. He said 57 teams had taken part during the past fortnight.

He thanked the Bowling Club for the use of its facilities. On behalf of all the players, Graphic team member Ian Bond thanked everyone involved in the organisation, saying long may the tournament continue.

The Graphics team comprised Ian Bond, Neil Ford, Dave Pickard and Simon Cartlidge.

The Evans News team included Robin Scott, Ryan Piper, Paul Conabeare (proprietor) and Ben Dommett.
