STAFF at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre took on a pad boxing challenge with members of the public in a bid to raise money for Children in Need.
The event which took place at the centre on Wednesday November 19, raised more than £160 for the charity.
On the night the participants were put through their paces in a Rocky Balboa style work out with lots of cardio vascular work and strength work before taking on the staff in a pad boxing workout. Music from the Rocky film was played and a boxing video mash-up was projected on to the wall to inspire the group.
Ed Jonckheere, centre instructor said, "The night was very much enjoyed by all the staff and the feed back from those taking part was really positive.
"There have been requests to host more, similar events in the future.
"The centre is therefore looking into the possiblity of hosting local charity fundraisers throughout the year, which will involve a fitness challenge."
