CREDITON sporting star Dee Weiner has returned from the recent Dorset Disability badminton tournament in Poole with a silver medal.

The tournament, held on Sunday, February 18, was one of a new set of disability badminton tournaments that have been organised in the South West by James Elkin, Badminton England’s Regional Disability Coach for the South West.

Dee was awarded the silver medal in the ladies singles.

She explained: “It was the most toughest and most exciting games I’ve ever played!

“It was great to see new faces and old faces at the tournament and lots of great badminton was played!.

“There were a mixture of all different disabilities there.

“This included amputee players, wheelchair players and upper and lower limb players plus learning disability and deaf players there too.

“Overall it was a fantastic day and lots of fun was had by all!”
