THE weather doesn’t seem to know what it’s doing at present with bowlers having to compete with sunshine, rain and the cold from one day to another. The week started off with all EDL matches being rained off on the Thursday evening (April 27) due to a waterlogged green.

On Saturday, April 29, Barnstaple Rock Park were the visitors and an impressive 100-79 victory was achieved with five out of the six skips winning.

The following day at Torrington Crediton’s unbeaten start to the season was cruelly ruined as although the rinks finished 3-3 Crediton’s shot count trailed their hosts by some considerable margin!

Bank Holiday Monday brought about the first of Crediton’s club competitions as the Den Ford triples took place on a much warmer afternoon. Members are split into groups of three and then play six ends against different groups with the highest score achieved being the overall winners.

Thanks go to Jenny and Trevor Newbery for their organisation and to all members who attended and took along a “shared” tea.

Another club day is being held this coming Bank Holiday (Monday, May 8) so why not go along and enjoy?
