A LARGE bag of 18 fish was banked in one week by Crediton angler, Richard Tierney, who has certainly "been on a roll" at the moment.

All his catches were mid to upper double figure size and his top three scaled 23lbs, 21lbs and 19lbs. His combined bag weight amounted to 293lbs.

Richard also enjoyed another two sessions, first banking 13 fish during a session with his best catch scaling 22lbs 8oz, 19lbs, 17lbs, 18lbs plus nine other mid doubles.

On his other session he banked seven fish, topped by a cracking mirror carp scaling 23lbs - the heaviest mirror carp for the week. Other catches included commons of 18lbs 2oz, plus five other mid double figures.

Heaviest green tench for the week was banked by Ben Richards. The Crediton junior banked a plump specimen weighing 6lbs exactly, together with a common carp of 16lbs 8oz whilst fishing just past the boat house on the left bank.

Fellow angling mate, Ben Sherratt, also enjoyed a good session, tempting two specimens, one off the surface and one using ledger tactics. The ledger produced a 17 pounder whilst the 18lbs common fell to floating bread.

Another Crediton angler, Mike Izzard, enjoyed some pleasing action whilst fishing from the top of the right bank. In total he banked eight fish with seven doubles, best of 21lbs, together with a 9lbs 8oz common.
