ADMISSION to Zeal Monachorum Village Hall's Cheer Up January Party included bringing a joke, those that forgot were not off the hook as spare jokes were available!

There was no requirement regarding the quality of the jokes and when they were read out a few were greeted with groans and demands to send the teller back to the cracker factory but the overall laughter and silliness of the occasion meant a great deal of fun was had by all.

The good atmosphere was helped by the hall having been transformed with fairy lights and standard lamps so that the harsh overhead strip lighting was not required; along with the delicious bring and share food and a paper quiz about Devon, the Party did what it said on the tin and everyone was cheered up.
