THANKS to its parish council, Yeoford now has a new play park plus an outdoor gym where the old play equipment was, due to be formally opened soon when work is complete.

Mid Devon District Council was going to close the play area in a fenced off part of the village Recreation Field.

Crediton Hamlets Parish Council protested and said it would take over responsibility from the district council.

It has all been planned by Yeoford Community Association who asked young people in the village what would be their top choices for the park.

Proceeds from the sale of the old village hall were used to buy the new equipment.
