PLANS to knock down a cob barn in Coleford and use the space as a garden have been lodged with Mid Devon District Council.

William and Julia Pratt of Springers Brook also want to build a new boundary wall around the garden after the demolition. It would be built of rendered blocks and have a clay tile roof.

The last use of the vacant barn was as a builder’s store, planning documents say.

The barn measures 15.7 metres by 6.5 metres. The proposed boundary wall would only be erected on two sides, with the longer side measuring 14.8 metres and the shorter 6.5 metres.

Pre-application advice given by the council is that the proposal is “acceptable in principle”.

You can see the application on the council’s website under reference 26/00100/FULL.
