MEMBERS of the Crediton and Area branch of Devon Senior Voice enjoyed a demonstration by yoga teacher Christina Jackson, during their first meeting of the New Year.

Christina also talked them through some breathing exercises which members found very relaxing. At present, Christina is the only yoga teacher offering regular classes at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.

She also offers outdoor sessions by the bandstand in Newcombes Meadows starting in May plus home visits for a more personal programme.

Chair, Carole Towler, warmly thanked her and light refreshments were then served.

There followed the monthly committee meeting, during which it was unanimously agreed that the new venue at Clifford Gardens, was very comfortable.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 2pm in the resident’s lounge at Clifford Gardens.

There will be a speaker from the physiotherapy team at Crediton Hospital talking about “Falls Prevention”. All are welcome.
