CHILDREN from Hayward's Primary School in Crediton had a real treat on World Book Day, Wednesday March 10.

Story tellers Geoff Fox, Peter Hamilton and Rob Pudner wowed the school with tales and activities to inspire reading.

Acting Head Teacher, Steve Hitchcock, told the Courier: "The year 6's had a great afternoon, with a visit from the QE librarians.

"They have supplied the school with a reading scheme that will hopefully encourage even more reading from our oldest pupils." Some of the children dressed as their favourite book characters for the day.
