Wind farm community grant applications now being welcomed in Den Brook area

THIS month sees the launch of the Den Brook Community Fund.

The fund has been set up to facilitate environmental and community development projects in Bow, North Tawton, South Tawton, Spreyton and Zeal Monachorum.

It welcomes applications from charitable and not-for-profit organisations based within the five parishes.

The fund has been specifically set up to support new initiatives and is looking forward to generating a significant step change in key areas such as the physical health and mental well-being of local communities, the promotion of care and support for disadvantaged or vulnerable people as well as encouraging voluntary activity and community spirit by supporting new social, sporting and cultural projects.

Contributions toward existing operational costs are excluded and proposals must be neutral, secular and a-political in nature.

The fund is jointly administered by the five local parishes in conjunction with the Den Brook Wind Farm owners (Aviva) and RES Ltd and projects which provide environmental benefits and contribute to energy efficiency initiatives are encouraged.

The closing date for the Spring 2018 round of applications is January 31, 2018.

Full Guidance, Terms and Conditions, and Application Forms are available by email at: [email protected] or by post from North Tawton Council Office, 14a The Square, North Tawton EX20 2EP.
