VON County Council has almost completed the long awaited Crediton link road to Lords Meadow Industrial Estate. Since its opening will occur within a few weeks, why haven't DCC waited until it is in use, before commencing the road works at the junction with Commercial Road? Why block what is currently the sole entrance and exit serving the Lords Meadow estate. If the alterations to the junction had been postponed until the link road was in use, estate users would have had the option to enter, or leave, via the new, alternative route. I don't understand why the Crediton people have to be subjected to such substantial delays when the current scenario could have so easily been avoided. Does it not constitute a lack of foresight on the part of Devon County Council and indeed, does it not demonstrate a lack of consideration for the humble road user? A contravention in the matter of the all important "duty of care" even? Graham Pearcey Copplestone By email
