ANYONE born on February 6, 1952 who is living in the Crediton area is in line for a surprise this summer. So will anyone born on February 6 this year.

This is because King George VI died on February 6, 1952 and his daughter Elizabeth, then aged 25, became Queen.

Crediton Town Council is working with town groups planning celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in June and would like to know of anyone born on these two dates.

Crediton's two Rotary Clubs have joined up to give £100 for a commemorative gift for each person who qualifies.
