A DUPLICATE Bridge Club has been formed in Morchard Bishop, from people who went along to learn the game in a beginner’s class run by John Chater. These people then went on to take an Improvers’ course.

John explains: “We meet in the Sports and Social Club at Morchard Bishop every Tuesday evening from 7pm to 10pm. The session usually begins with a short presentation on the play of the cards using Bernard Magee’s teaching DVD’s.

“The atmosphere is always friendly and never too serious; there is a bar and we stop for refreshments half-way through.

“We are looking for more members so if you think you might be interested in trying us out, please give me a call.

“You need not have played the duplicate form of the game before.”
