AN appeal has been issued for volunteers who could help fulfill two roles in Newton St Cyres.

Volunteer litter pickers are wanted to help around the parish.

The Parish Council says that equipment is provided (high visibility vest, litter picking stick, gloves).

Cllr Jill Baker, press officer for the council, said: "You will be doing a valuable job in helping to keep our lovely village tidy and litter free.

"If you can help, please contact Councillor Graeme Barnell on 01392 851308.

"Volunteers are urgently needed to be part of the Community Speed Watch in the village which is being revived to help to combat the speeds logged.

"All the equipment is still available and training and vetting has been speeded up considerably to enable the scheme to get off the ground again.
