Exeter Leukaemia Fund would like to hear from anyone, whether new to ELF or current or previous supporters, who are interested in helping to form the group.
ELF currently has three groups based in Exmouth, Okehampton and Tiverton and is now hoping the people of Crediton will step forward.
The groups all play a vital part in the success of the charity, from organising their own fundraising activities and helping with ELF events as well as offering friendship and focus for patients, family and friends.
Tracy Milton, ELF's communications manager, said: "The supporter groups in other parts of Devon are a great success.
"Not only has many thousands of pounds been raised, but the groups have become a focal point for friendship, support and fun!"
Bridget Hill, the charity's fundraising manager, explained that she was pleased to say that one person had already expressed an interest in joining a Crediton ELF support group, notably with an interest in becoming the group's treasurer.
She explained: "The role of treasurer is an important one and I really wanted to 'bite her hand off' when she told me.
"All we need now are more volunteers who could join our one volunteer in getting the group established."
Bridget said that no experience is needed to join any of the charity's supporter groups and she added that people of all ages and from all walks of life would be welcomed.
If you are interested in helping to set up a group or being part of it, please contact the fundraising team on 01392 247725 or email: [email protected]">[email protected] .
