CHERITON Fitzpaine Parish Hall was packed on a very wet and windy Sunday evening, when Clive Carroll, virtuoso guitarist, entertained his audience with his amazing playing and humorous introductions and explanations.

Clive came from a musical family and was involved in music from a young age. He was trained at Trinity College, London and has toured widely, including the USA.

He has also composed music for advertisements and films. The title of the show was “A 1,000 years in music”, and we were taken from early lute music, through Irish folk to modern pieces, some composed by Clive himself.

The evening was organised by Villages in Action, under the leadership of Becky Smith, helped in no small part by the Parish Hall Committee, who also ran the bar.
