Proposal for footpath and cycle way between Crediton and Exeter
THE story appeared in the Courier on Friday, June 24, issue 1091.
MEMBERS of the community are invited to attend a drop-in consultation event about plans for an all-purpose cycle-way and footpath between Crediton and Exeter.
The Boniface Trail Association, which comprises local councillors, cycle and walking enthusiasts, organisation representatives and local residents says it is fully committed to establishing a trail that is suitable for cyclists and walkers and will also be mobility scooters, wheelchairs and family-friendly.
The drop-in consultation will be held in the Club Room at Newton St Cyres Parish Hall on Saturday, July 16 from 10am to 1pm, when members of the group will be available to answer questions and provide information about the proposed trail.
More than 900 people have so far completed an online questionnaire or made comments about the proposed Boniface Trail.
The questionnaire can be found at: http://sites.google.com/site/bonifacetrailcampaign/

What you told us ……….
It’s a great idea. Anything that encourages people to cycle and makes it safer is good.
Helen Olsson, Copplestone
It’s a good idea. It’s dangerous for cyclists on the roads. I’m sure cyclists would appreciate it.
Sandford Resident
It would be a lot safer if bikes were taken off the road. Cyclists are always getting knocked off their bikes. It would be a good idea to have a cycle path from here to Exeter. And it would be good for Crediton.
Steve Savage-Jones
I think it’s a wonderful idea. So many cyclists use the road to go to and from work. It’s chaos.
