THE story appeared in the "Courier" on Friday, November 28, issue 1009.
THERE have been some significant changes to the Mid Devon Local Council Plan Review 2013-2033, which could have a huge impact on Crediton and the surrounding area.
The plans include bringing forward the building of homes on the northern side of the town, with 200 dwellings at Pedlarspool and 120 at the Rec and Crediton Rugby Club (subject to an alternative site for the club being found).
The proposals are published in a report " Proposed Submission Policies for Crediton and the West Area" presented to Mid Devon District Council's cabinet.
All the people I spoke to were concerned about whether the infrastructure of the town could cope with so many new homes being built.
What do you think?

What you told us ..........
I don't think the sewers can cope. There's lots of extra traffic from Lords Meadow already in that part of the town. Isn't that a flood plain where they want to build? It's all too much, the infrastructure can't cope.

It's a shame they are building so many houses, but it's inevitable as people have to live somewhere – there are too many people in the country and in the world. There is so much traffic already in Crediton - everyone will be affected.
Kevin Jones, Crediton
I don't think the infrastructure can cope and how will the schools cope? The logistics need to be in place first.

The infrastructure can't cope. The traffic is already bad in the town. All of the infrastructure can't cope especially the schools and hospitals.
Mary Knight, Crediton
It was inevitable with the building of the Link Road. We need more affordable housing. So many builders put up four and five bedroom houses, when it's the smaller two bedroom houses that are needed. Will these new houses be eco-friendly? We already have problems parking. Perhaps they will create more parking on the estate. The town's population is getting bigger and people have to live somewhere.
