THE Christmas Craft Fair held at Upton Pyne Village Hall on November 19, which included delicious refreshments and lots of stalls, raised £140 for church funds.

Organiser, Linda Finley said that some of the money will be used to buy advertising material, with about £104 going to the church maintenance fund. She says this is not a big earner, and everyone loves it as a social event. She added that they have raised more than £60,000 over the past four years for repairs to the church, and now have a target of £10,000 for current projects.

Linda expressed her thanks to everyone who helped and supported them. Stalls also included woodwork items, hand-made pottery, John Howels photographs, delightful water colours by Sally Tuckey, who also gave a painting entitled Cathedral Close for the draw, plus Handsome Hounddog bandanas and vintage clothing etc.

Teas, coffees and the bric-a-brac stall was run by Sue Reynolds, Sue Glanville, Dink Bradnock and Lyn Johns.

The next event at Upton Pyne Village Hall will be a Christmas Bingo on Saturday, December 10. Prizes will include beef joints, pork and chocolates.

This is being organised by Dink Bradnock, in aid of the charity DreamAway. Doors open at 6.30pm with eyes down at 7.30pm.
