IN A 2004 survey Crediton came out as the 11th most distinctive town surveyed in the UK.
The survey by nef (the new economics foundation), was designed to determine whether towns or cities had become "Clone Towns" indistinguishable from dozens of others around the country or whether they survive as a town or city distinctive and recognisable as a unique place.
