A TEMPORARY two-night road closure in Crediton has been announced by Devon County Council to enable South West Highways to carry out essential maintenance work.

Circumstances and weather permitting, the work, at Commercial Road, will take place between 7pm and 11pm on Monday, November 11 and Tuesday, November 12. Motorists and resident are advised however, that these dates may still need to change with little or no notice.

A spokesperson for South West Highways said: “To enable us to carry out these surfacing works safely, a road closure and diversion will be in operation.

“The noisiest of our operations should be completed by approximately 11pm, however flashing lights and reversing alarms will continue to be used throughout the work as these are a Health and Safety requirement, and we apologise in advance for the inconvenience that this will cause.

“We will endeavour to maintain access to all premises at all times and keep any inconvenience to a minimum. However, some interruption may be unavoidable and for this we apologise in advance. Please drive slowly and be aware of the workmen.”

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via the A3072, A396, A377, Cowley Bridge Roundabout, A377 and vice versa.

For additional information about this road closure please contact South West Highways customer liaison officer on telephone 01404 821500.
