WELL-KNOWN Crediton folk singer and architect, David Treadaway, has two regular venues that he performs at in the town and this month will see him entertain with his music on two occasions.
The first one will be at the weekly Memory Cafe held at Crediton Station Tea Rooms on Tuesday, December 15 from 11am.
This wonderfully supportive group (for anyone with memory loss or dementia) is run by Linda Brown, who was recently honoured by Crediton Rotary Club when she received a “Citizen of the Year” award.
David told the Courier: “It is inspiring playing to people who are challenged by memory as the songs seem to unlock their memories.”
At a recent visit David explained that one audience member recalled a Ralph McTell concert she had been to in Leeds. “None of the group had forgotten the chorus of Streets of London, except me!”
Anyone interested in going along to this or any Memory Cafe at the Tea Rooms should please contact Linda on 01363 777766 for more details.
David’s second appearance in Crediton will be on Saturday, December 19 from 11am to 1pm in the Crediton Coffee Company.
David’s folk songs cover the early to mid 1960’s American music of Tim Hardin, Dylan etc right up to Jake Bugg - will they be singing his songs in the Tea Rooms in the years to come?!
