THE final concert this year for the St Boniface Concert Society will feature Crispian Steele-Perkins (trumpet) and Ian LeGrice (organ) and will be held on Thursday, September 21 at 7.30pm in Crediton Parish Church.
Internationally-renowned Crispian Steele-Perkins is described by "Virtuoso" magazine as “the world’s leading exponent of the Baroque trumpet”.
He has recorded both with classical musicians such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and popular artists such as Harry Secombe, and he has taken part in many film and TV scores - he performs the theme tune to the "Antiques Roadshow"!
Ian Le Grice’s career embraces all aspects of organ playing and he is much in demand both as soloist and accompanist. He has collaborated with Crispian Steele-Perkins since 2005, presenting informal recitals for trumpet and organ.
The programme not only presents trumpet pieces by Handel, Haydn, M.A. Charpentier, Purcell, Mozart and Howard Goodall but also includes a demonstration of 17th and 18th trumpet techniques.
The concert starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from A E Lee Outfitters, High Street, Crediton and on the door on the evening of the concert.
