TRAINS are currently unable to run on the Tarka Line between Eggesford and Barnstaple due to a defect with the track.

Services are still operating between Exeter St Davids and Eggesford via Crediton.

There are no replacement buses available. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost, in both directions on the following local bus routes: Stagecoach 5/5A, 5B, 5C and Dartline route 369.

“Trains are not able to run over the affected line until it has been inspected,” said a Great Western Railway spokesperson.

“We are working with Network Rail to gather more information to understand how this will affect our services and how we can return to our normal timetable as soon as possible.”

Further updates as we have them.
