DOG grooming business and pet supplier "Groomed and living to Pawfection" run by Karla and Sarah, opened at new premises, 38 High Street, Crediton, last Saturday.

The Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch, performed the "official" opening at the shop, which was previously Treloars and more lately, the venue for flag-making for the Crediton Festival.

Karla said it was a great day, with lots of people visiting the shop to see what was on offer and to see the new grooming facilities.

There is even a room to bath dogs and shortly there will be a "shop and stay" kennel facility, where a dog can be left for half an hour or an hour while the owner does some shopping.

Outside the shop was parked a car which had no paint but artificial grass and a smiley face!

Above the entrance to the shop sits a rather large green dog, an internet website purchase Karla made, which certainly puts the shop on the map!

"Groomed to Pawfection" started just a year and a half ago and has been based in the Creedy Centre since that time.

It has now moved into the larger premises and the move has enabled Karla and Sarah to take on three new apprentices, who started on the day the shop opened at 38 High Street.

Karla said the mayor gave "a lovely speech".

She explained that the shop has a wide range of pet accessories such as beds, toys, leads and probably the biggest selection of brushes in the county.

Outside the shop is the life-size Guide Dog for Blind collection box which previously sat outside Ivor Coram's shoe shop.

During the morning dogs could be micro-chipped free-of-charge at the premises.

Jackie Taylor, Mid Devon District Council Dog Warden, micro-chipped 28 dogs and thanked The Dogs Trust who provided the free micro-chips.

She explained that further micro-chip events would be held in the near future.

Karla and Sarah said they would like to thank all the people that helped to make their move a great success.
