A FLAG-raising ceremony in support of Armed Forces Day took place at the Council offices, Market Street, Crediton, on Monday. Armed Forces Day takes place tomorrow, Saturday, June 28 and is a day when the whole nation is invited to show support for our military community, both serving and retired, at home and abroad. Crediton Town Council flies the Armed Forces flag for the duration of the week leading up to Armed Forces Day, from the Council offices, by kind permission of Mid Devon District Council. The Mayor of Crediton paid tribute to those who had served or are currently serving in the Forces. Members of the Crediton branch of the Royal British Legion, including President, Nigel Cooper, vice-chairman, John Higgs, Poppy Appeal organiser, Derek Rowe and standard bearer Arnold Vosper were among those present. Also attending was the town clerk, Clare Dalley, town councillor Daniel Webb and some members of the public. Alan Quick
