CREDITON Town Council has presented £370 to Crediton Youth Orchestra, half of the profits from its Carols in the Square event held in December.
Hundreds of people attended the traditional much-loved town event in Crediton Town Square.
The Town Band played a range of Christmas Carols at the event, members of Crediton Youth Orchestra Youth Ensemble playing before it began.
The public were generous in their donations and the Band Chairman Chris Richards was pleased to be able to support the Youth Orchestra with the donation, which was accepted by Alison Goldby, the orchestra leader.
Chris said that the band has a good working relationship with the orchestra and was pleased to support it.
Alison was praised for her commitment to the orchestra.
