TOP honours at the 35th Exeter and District Christmas Primestock Show held at Exeter Livestock Market went to British Blue cross heifer "Top Tottie" which was homebred by Paul and Lin Calcraft from Honiton.

It was the fourth time the couple had claimed the supreme championship at the show in six years.

Top Tottie was born in April 2015 and went on to top the sale at £2,476 (410ppk), purchased by Darts Farm Master Butchers at Topsham.

Reserve was Nigel and Candy Jenkinson’s purebred British Blue heifer, Kandy. Mr and Mrs Jenkinson farm at Shebbear in North Devon.

Kandy reached £2,098 (330ppk) in the sale ring.

In the sheep classes, the Darke family from Kingsbridge took the supreme championship with a pair of five-months-old Texel cross lambs.

The show attracted a good quality of prime cattle, butchers lambs and pigs for the show and sale, held on December 2, which was conducted by Kivells Auctioneers. Exeter Livestock Market is owned and operated by Exeter City Council.

Trophies were presented by John Quick, show chairman, of Coldridge and president of the show is Andrew Down, also of Crediton.
