SO it’s finally here. After months of rehearsing the time has come for CODS to present “Bums On Seats” by Michael Snelgrove from Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29 at QE Lower School (Barnfield).

For regular patrons of CODS please note the change of venue for our October production due to ongoing building works at the Upper School site.

Tickets are priced at £11 for adults and £9 for concessions and can be obtained either by going to the box office at: www.codsonline.com or by emailing Mike Canning on: [email protected] or by visiting Olivia James Design, 27 High Street Crediton.

CODS are delighted that the performances are sponsored by Lewis’s.

The play does contain occasional strong language.

The cast have hopefully learned their lines and their moves under the direction of Carol Stoyle.

Having joined CODS in 1975 this is Carol’s fourth time as Director and she is also both President and a committee member of the Society.

It is pleasing to see new faces in the cast alongside some of the die-hard members audiences will instantly recognise. The play explores the “ins and outs” and “ups and downs” of show business from the actors to the production team and, later, the audience.

It also includes a “mock” birth but this part is not being played by the actress recently announcing her pregnancy! Will you be able to pick her out?

As soon as the play has run its course then CODS starts to rehearse its Easter production of “Made In Dagenham”.

The first rehearsal will be held in the Town Hall on Wednesday, November 2 at 7.30pm.

Emily Killeen, another Crediton lady, is directing and will be introducing all those attending to her vision of this very exciting venture for CODS.

Allan Fouracre will be making the trip up from Hayle to start teaching us the music.

This very lively show has only just been released to amateur societies and we will be the first to put it on in the Exeter and Mid Devon area.

If ever you have had a passing interest in joining CODS then this show would definitely be the one to come along to and give it a go.

But hopefully that will be after you’ve all come along to QE next week and had plenty of laughs at “Bums On Seats”.
