THREE local children, accompanied by their parents, have trekked up and down Mount Snowdon to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
The children who took part were Dylan (15), Lewis (12) and Ellie (11).
Mum Clare Collins told the “Courier”: “The reason behind us raising money for such an important charity is, while in lockdown we unfortunately lost our Nan/Great Nan.
“This was a very lonely time for all of us. However, we felt that those with dementia and Alzheimer’s were among those who suffered the most. “Unfortunately our Nan/Great Nan was in a care home and no-one was allowed to be by her side when she passed. We know that there are many families that were affected in the pandemic the same way our family was.
“So we are raising money and also awareness for such a terrible disease but also a brilliant charity.
“Alzheimer’s Society funds cutting-edge research into the cause, care, cure and prevention of dementia.
“Here are just some ways that donations towards Alzheimers Society makes a difference: Saving tens of thousands of lives, Bringing billions into trials for Alzheimer’s disease treatments, Giving people with Alzheimer’s disease more time at home and, Providing hope for treatments before symptoms take hold.
“We would like to thank everyone that has donated so far. We have raised £570.
