THREE halls in the Crediton area are to receive awards thanks to the Big Lottery Fund it was announced this week.

East Worlington Parish Hall will use funding of £9,960 to install audio visual equipment in the parish hall.

The funding will enable the group to run activities for the local community where people can socialise, reduce feelings of isolation and improve their overall sense of well-being.

Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall has been awarded £10,000 towards a refurbishment programme.

The money will be used to improve the amenities and facilities within the parish hall, which is located in a rurally isolated area.

The money will enhance resources in the community through enhancing this public building.

Zeal Monachorum Village Hall Committee has been awarded £6,902 towards playground resurfacing.

The money will be used to resurface the two playground areas on each side of the hall.

This will provide people with safe access to outdoor play, offering improved facilities for community groups.

In total, 79 projects were announced on Tuesday, December 13, would be receiving funding totalling £3.2 million across the South West.
