EVERY summer at Crediton Library a “Summer Reading Challenge” takes place for children of all ages and this year, to celebrate 100 years since Roald Dahl was born, the theme is “The Big Friendly Read”.
The challenge is to read or share any six books during the summer and, after every two books, children pick up Quentin Blake limited edition cards to slot into the folder they are given when they sign up.
When the challenge is completed a medal and certificate are awarded.
Children who are not library members can join the library to sign up.
The challenge runs through the summer and needs to be completed by September 10.
Children are invited to go along and join “The Big Friendly Read” and see if there are any other of the summer activities they would like to take part in.
Coming soon at the library is a science workshop, a comic and graphic novel day, a music event, story games, drama, crafts, animation and even a visit from Exmoor Zoo.
Booking is essential for the library events at Crediton Library by calling in to the library at Belle Parade or telephone 01363 772578.
