A ONE-OFF special this year commemorates the 100th anniversary of the last year of the First World War.
Cheriton Bishop Parish Church is the setting for a production, weaving together songs, stories and poetry from that era and in particular an remembrance of the bravery and sacrifice made by certain men from Cheriton Bishop.
This local production, by local people looks at all the angles, including those who had reservations for the need for war in the first place and what the parishioners who stayed here at home, did to help those at the front.
There will also be an small exhibition of local World War One information, including names of men joining the forces, prisoners of war, agriculture and cropping plans.
"That World War One Experience" will be staged in Cheriton Bishop Parish Church on Saturday, November 3, beginning at 7.30pm.
It will include stories of those who went to war from Cheriton Bishop to serve at the front through songs, poetry and projected images to capture the atmosphere of the time.
Those who go along will be able to see the church as they have never seen it before.
The cost is £8 per ticket, to include refreshments.
