THANKS to the skill and generosity of one man, an old signpost in Yeoford has been repaired and looks like new again.

This is the three-armed signpost that greets people as they enter the village from Crediton. It stands outside Cuckoobush, whose owner, Richard Adams, has done the work.

Richard and his wife Louise have lived there for almost 13 years.

Richard said: “It was my lock-down project and I thought of those people saying they can’t do anything.

“If they all did something, even just keep the pavement outside their home clear, they would not need to rely on the council. I just needed a saw, screw driver and pot of paint.

“I had some iroco wood and I bought another piece of wood. I had to make a few letters and repair one or two, all the rest I was able to unscrew, paint and put back again.

“People have noticed the improvement, most have been complimentary with a few wondering why I have done it instead of the council,” he said.
