CREDITON Playscheme, the charity which provides fun, educational and social bonding opportunities to children with additional needs from Crediton and the surrounding area, would like to thank Sandford Playgroup for its kind donation of £392 made from its recent annual Scarecrow Trail.

Darren Fox, explained: "Unfortunately, the playgroup has had to make the difficult decision to close as it does not have the number of children needed to re-open in the autumn term.

"The money raised from this popular event which would have normally been used for the upkeep of the playgroup will now be split between Crediton Playscheme and the neo-natal ICU at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

"The scarecrow trail has always been something our children have loved to do during the summer holidays and it would be very sad if it was to stop."
