THROUGH the Courier we would like to thank everyone who assisted in the planning and organisation of the Sandford World War One Commemoration Service held on Monday, August 4. Thanks go also to the large number of people who attended and contributed to the collection amounting to £317.75 which is being donated to the Poppy Appeal through the Crediton branch of the Royal British Legion. Also thanks for the help from the Courier for our search to fi nd a bugler. We will all remember for years to come Mark Rottenbury playing The Last Post as poppy petals were scattered from the top of the tower of St Swithun's.
