UNFORTUNATELY, the speaker was ill for the October meeting of Cheriton Fitzpaine Garden Club, but Chairman Andrew Dean and show co-ordinator Ann Nixon had worked extremely hard all day to provide a really entertaining evening for us.

The Parish Hall was laid out with small tables and flowers and a lovely buffet was available to all. Long tables were filled with a fine selection of plants in pots, foliage and flowers, together with a variety of herbs in cotton bags.

Members were invited to identify the exhibits, which caused a lot of scratching of heads and - "I do know it - it’s on the tip of my tongue"!

On the Saturday following our meeting, several members gathered at Church Cross to weed and prepare the ground for winter.

Our next meeting, on Thursday, November 21 at 7.30pm, will be a Workshop. Sue Tucker will be showing us how to make festive table decorations. Numbers are limited, so contact Andrew or Ann if you wish to come.
