TARA Conabeare of Evans Newsagent in Crediton has walked 64 miles in a charity Dog Walk Challenge with her dog Minx and raised £4,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The charity is particularly close to Tara and her family. Tara was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and after treatment is now recovering, hence the reason for raising money for the charity.
During October Tara and Minx walked about three miles a day.
Minx was out of action for a week or so but was soon back walking again and they were joined on the walks by other dog walkers.
Tara said: “I am really pleased to announce the final total of £4,000 which I am happy to donate to Cancer Research UK.
“Everyone has been really kind.
“Minx and I have enjoyed it and we have had some lovely walks in the countryside.
“Thank you to everyone and their dogs for their support and company and a special thank you to Sue Frost and Duke who walked with us whenever we would have been on our own.”
