SANDFORD Playgroup held a successful Table Top Sale on June 29, the result of which raised a total of £179.65 to help boost funds.
The Parish Hall was full with sellers and items being sold included jumble, clothing, toys, books and bric-a-brac and the tombola stall and lucky dip for children proved very busy throughout the afternoon.
Thanks are expressed to all those who supported the event and helped, plus those who helped in removing tables and chairs at the end of the event.
SCARECROW TRAIL
The next big fundraiser for the playgroup is the annual Scarecrow Trail which sees in excess of 40 fun and colourful characters erected in various locations within the village and the Millennium Green.
This year’s trail runs from July 20 until September 8 and the theme is “Heroes and Villains”. Those who take part can keep a look out for “Spiderman”, “Mary Poppins”, “The Fantastic Mr Fox”, “The Wicked Witch of the West” (from the “Wizard of Oz”) and popular with young children, “Supertato”.
Trail maps and guides will be available from Sandford Community Stores for £4 which goes to local charities. There is also a chance to vote for your favourite scarecrow.
After September 8 all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw for cash prizes.
Last year’s scarecrow trail raised £839 for playgroup funds.
