THE recent meeting of Cheriton Fitzpaine Garden Club took the form of a workshop led by Susan Tucker.

Members were all greeted with a large bunch of flowers, which we had to turn into an Aqua Hand-tied bouquet.

Susan patiently took us through the various stages, but most of us found fixing a "collar" of tissue paper and cellophane a very tricky procedure! Some people had to resort to another glass of wine to give them the courage to tackle the job!

On Sunday, June 30, we are organising an Open Gardens’ afternoon from 1pm to 5pm. Tickets on the day will be obtainable from the Parish Hall, and cost is £6 (under 12’s free). Teas will also be available at the hall from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

There will be several gardens open, and 20 per cent of the takings will go to Save the Children.
