I CELEBRATED my 80th birthday in Bow Village Hall on August 31. I did enjoy it so much, thanks to the village hall committee and all my friends, who gave sweets and savouries, - such a great help.
The delicious meats organised from the Waie Inn, thanks to Karen and also thanks to Mr and Mrs D Coles who ran the bar.
Anne Clancy provided the entertainment which was very good. Thanks go to Andy Dyer for printing the invitations and to David Bowyer the photographer. And, of course, not forgetting everyone who gave donations towards the village hall, which came to £600, such generosity.
I want to thank my family, my son Billy and daughter Susan, who lives in New Zealand but could not be with us. My special granddaughters Catherine and Alexandra, my niece Kay Webber and my good friend Clifford, who all did so much.
I'm so glad to live in Bow, which has been my home for nearly 50 years. It is such a go-ahead village with great committees, who do so much. I received over 200 beautiful birthday cards.
There are so many - "nice people" and I thank you so much, all of you!
