THERE was a stand-off at the roundabout at Jockey Hill in Crediton at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, April 28.

A tractor with machinery was proceeding down towards Blagdon when it met a car coming up towards the roundabout.

The car occupant refused to reverse the car and the tractor driver said that he was unable to reverse with the machinery attached.

Queues of traffic built up in Blagdon and part way up Jockey Hill while the drivers discussed the issue.

Horns were blown on many of the vehicles in the queues and some of those in the queues turned around to find alternative routes.

After a period of time the car driver reversed down the hill to allow the tractor to proceed down Blagdon.
