THIS year’s St Nicholas Fair in Crediton will take place on Saturday, November 18 from 10am to 2pm in the Boniface Centre in Church Lane.

The event raises funds for the day-to-day running costs of Crediton Parish Church which are the responsibility of the Parochial Church Council (rather than the Governors who look after the fabric and maintenance of the building).

There’s nothing very exciting about paying for gas and electricity amongst many other things but the total running costs for the church amount to around £140,000 per year.

Items for sale on a variety of stalls (some of which are run by other local churches) will include Christmas cards and gifts, a cake stall run by the Mothers’ Union, jewellery, jigsaws and boxed games, candles and candle/tealight holders and toiletries.

In addition, the church has been donated a number of paintings to sell for which it is very grateful.

There will be an auction of small household items at 1pm (available for viewing throughout the morning) and a Grand Raffle.  Refreshments will be served throughout - all are invited to go along for coffee, have a look round and stay for a light lunch and the auction!

There is free parking, admission is free and the Boniface Centre is accessible.
