A GRAND Day Out is promised in Witheridge on Saturday, June 20 when St John's Fayre takes place from 10.30am to 11pm.

The annual Charter Fayre, which dates back to 1248, starts with a grand parade at 11.15am with marching bands and entertainers; farming, military and vintage vehicles; ponies, beagles, birds of prey, staghounds and greyhounds; and the parents and children of the village.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse will also take part in the parade and will be available for photographs all day.

Following the reading of the Royal Charter, the village children will kick-off the entertainment with Maypole dancing and drumming in the Square, followed by Tiverton's New Generation Majorettes.

Festivities will follow in the grounds of the Parish Hall with family entertainers including Mr Showers and Reptobug, the dog show and fun races, model boats and children's art exhibition, Crediton Town Band, Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, Bideford Youth Pipes and Drums...and lots more!
